Interiors : Jan Skácelík

Thursday, February 25th, 2010

I haven’t posted many interiors in awhile but seeing the living room of Jan Skácelík on flickr got me back in the mood. I love the white walls with pops of bright colors and the random letters throughout. The arrangement of artwork behind the sofa is amazing. I’m feeling really inspired after seeing this. Very soon Shayne and I are heading to ikea to pick up a new sofa. The Karlstad. We have slowly but surely been replacing our hand-me-down furniture and the sofa is the last piece to be upgraded. Then everything is ours!

Dear Creatures Spring 2010

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010

Dear Creatures Spring 2010 collection takes inspiration from the vivid and colorful world of Jack Demy’s The Umbrellas of Cherbourg. Visually delightful and unique, the 1964 film musical creates high French drama with popping hues and rich textural design, and Dear Creatures manifests this in chic sartorial form. Spring 2010 evokes the fresh energy of 1960s Paris. Iconic French New Wave films cease to be imaginary with the line’s charming looks, which in a past life could have found their way into the closets of Catherine Deneuve, Anna Karina, and Brigitte Bardot.

Love Story

Friday, February 19th, 2010

Love Story is on my top ten list of favorite movies.  Other than the plot my favorite part of the movie of course is the wardrobe. Love Story does winter clothing better than any other movie with the coats, wool skirts and brightly colored tights. Here are a few stills.
