Oh Baby : Boy or Girl?

BOY OR GIRL???….

IT’S A GIRL!!! At least we are pretty sure. At our 20 week ultrasound there was no telling what baby was. The little legs were tucked up under the bum and we couldn’t get even a glimpse. At our last appointment on the 11th we had another ultrasound. After much looking around, the ultrasound technician said….”Looks like you’re having a girl baby”. One of the legs were still tucked under and hiding things a bit but he said he saw no boy parts. So, until boy parts appear on that screen…It’s a girl!!!

I was a little nervous to start shopping because of that little leg hiding things. That all changed this weekend when we stopped by a local antique shop. I found quite a few vintage outfits for this little lady and just in case there is one for a little mister:)

Oh Baby : 23 Week Bump

Saturday, March 24th, 2012

I finally found the courage to let Shayne take photos of the baby bump. All it took was a little pampering at the salon, a cut and color and a cute Springy dress. After our his and hers haircuts we took a stroll around town to look at the early blooming trees and enjoy the gorgeous weather. We popped over to the park and there you have it…my 23 week bump:)

This weather has been so wonderful. In all honesty a few weeks ago I was in a bit of a funk but then the temperature rose and the sun came out and like that I had energy again. I was so excited to be feeling better that I think I overdid it. I’ve spent every single day the past week out and about. Going for walks, shopping, bookstores, out to dinner and finally tonight while we were at the flea market/antique shops I found myself so stiff and sore in my hips, legs and feet that I can barely walk. Needless to say after finding some Esquire magazines from 1975 and an Otis Redding record I’ve been wanting we called it a night. It has never felt so good to come home a plop down on the sofa in front of Netflix! We just finished watching Eames : The Architect and The Painter…so good.

Things I’m looking forward to this weekend:

- Mad Men and mocktails

- listening to my new record with the windows open

- cleaning with my new mrs. meyers lemon verbena

- soaking my stiff body in a bubble bath

-painting my toenails while I still can

- the arrival of my discovery kit from The Honest Co.

Pin-up Girls Before & After

I love these images of the real women behind the pin-up posing. It’s interesting to see how they were transformed into the final product.

Beauty Buys : Think Pink

Wednesday, March 21st, 2012

I wanted to share just a few of my recently purchased beauty favorites. I love buying one or two new lip colors at the beginning of every season. For Spring I was definitely thinking pink.

1.) Korres Lip Butter: I am in love with this lip butter! In the pot the color looks scary bright pink but once you apply it is a beautiful sheer shade of pink. The moisture it provides your lips is unbelievable and I really like the fact that it is natural. No parabens etc.

2.) Tarte Divine Shine Lip Gloss: This is a really pretty shade of pink. What caught my eye of course was the adorable floral print packaging. Has better staying power than most natural products.

3.) Twirl by Kate Spade: A nice fresh fragrance that just makes me happy. The perfume bottle is covered in gold polka dots…need I say more?
