amazing business resources

Thursday, March 19th, 2009

As a self-employed blogger/shop owner I am always look for great business tips. Over the past few months I have stumbled across some truly amazing resources and I thought I would share them here.

First up is Holly Becker of decor8. Her new Creativity Series has me hooked! Holly’s 10-week Creativity Series is filled with great tips, deep discussion and homework assignments for you to do to tap into your most creative self. She covers everything from mind mapping to the importance of fitting in some form of daily exercise. Catch up now at decor8blog.com

Modish Biz Tips is another favorite. Although relatively new, Biz Tips is packed with inspiration! Jena gives marketing advice, posts to keep your self-employed self motivated and suggestions on branding your business. Jena says that “Modish BIZtips is here to help you, the artist, crafter or designer who is working towards making a living off your own creations. It’s a road that’s not an easy one to take, but this blog will be a source of support, information and guidance along your way.”

Finally, Dialogue is a new video series from Erin Loechner on Design for Mankind. It is “dedicated to all the things we as a creative community SHOULD be talking about, but AREN’T “. Episode One is all about balance and Episode Two is all about the dreaded finances.

I just wanted to say thank you to these ladies because their work has helped me to become better at my own.

Queens Of Vintage

Wednesday, March 4th, 2009

Queens Of Vintage is a fairly new website dedicated to all things vintage. QueensOfVintage.com is the first daily vintage glossy to share all of their vintage fashion, beauty, and interior style secrets just with you. So if you bask in Bakelite and frolic in frills, the dedicated team of vintage-obsessed writers and gurus at Queens Of Vintage are making it their mission to bring you all that’s fabulous in the vintage world. I was so excited when one of the editors, the lovely Lena contacted me about doing a feature on Night Owl Vintage!

Here is what Lena had to say about Night Owl Vintage: “Online vintage shop Night Owl Vintage is relaunching with a new site. To celebrate, all our readers get 20% off. Yay! We’ve checked out the new shop and this Sixties rhinestone and enamel pin, $12, has really caught our eye. We also like this $20 red and yellow cheerleader top from the Seventies. Go Queens! Of course a shop called Night Owl Vintage has to sell a few owl-related items. This little Seventies ceramic owl, $8.50, is a lovely vintage deco piece. To claim your special 20% QueensOfVintage.com discount enter code ‘queen20? at Night Owl before you check out.”
