New Postlapsaria Site

Wednesday, December 10th, 2008

Postlapsaria has been one of my favorite shopping destinations for a few years now. It has just gotten even better with a total website overhaul and new items. Postlapsaria.com was founded in 2003 by Keiko Lynn, a self-taught fashion designer who began her line after learning how to sew from her great-grandmother.

Of Cabbages & Kings

Wednesday, July 30th, 2008

Looking for something special and handmade? Of Cabbages & Kings provides a permanent space for independent designers, artists and crafty people to show their wares and for you to find something unique.

Dolly Cherry Bag : £38.00, Secret Garden Earrings : £9.50, Delicates Cushion : £45.00 and Hummingbird Sugar Bowl Black : £16.00

The good news is they ship internationally but the bad news is that those of us not in the UK are missing out on the brand new brick and mortar Of Cabbages & Kings. The store is kitted out in brightly colored reconditioned 1950’s kitchen furniture and sells handcrafted gifts, jewellery, ceramics, knickers, toys and accessories all individually sourced from artists and independent small-scale designers, many of whom live in the local area. This old sweet shop is tucked away off from Church Street has been derelict for many years, only recently being restored. The shop currently stocks a range of traditional sweets, rhubarb and custard, cola cubes, sherbet lemons etc, in respect of this.

Indieshopping.com is proud to announce our newest project…The Shop at Indieshopping.com! The shop will act as a showcase for emerging designers/crafters to display their goods. Each designer will have their own section of the shop where they can display up to 12 items. The designer page will also include a biography as well as links to your online store where customers can purchase your items. Each designer will have the ability to manage their own inventory and upload their own photos/items.

The Shop at Indieshopping.com is a showcase, so all transactions will take place through your own store. We do not charge any percentages or other hidden fees, just your monthly membership. The monthly membership fee will be $45 and the first showcase will launch on November 1st.

Call For Submissions:

This is a handmade revolution & MY MY is on the front line!

MY MY Art + Craft is located at 15 Byberry Road in Hatboro Pennsylvania. June hours are Tuesday through Saturday 10-8pm

D*S Shop

Wednesday, December 20th, 2006

D*S Shop is as unique as the limited-edition items it carries. For owner and the woman behind the Design Sponge blog, Grace Bonney, having a shop like this has been a dream. She has been a big supporter of the indie designer community and decided she wanted to make great design available to everyone everywhere. Each piece in the shop has been exclusively designed for D*S and nothing sells for more the 100 bucks.

Wildflower Pillows by Shelly Klein for k studio & Birdyheads by Amy Ruppel

Every month 10% of the site’s advertising revenue goes to a charity. Probably the most outstanding part of D*S Shop is that the artists take home 100% of their profits. Grace has truly created a site that gives artists a place to sell their work and support their small business, not about turning a profit for herself.
