mama and daughter

We are two peas in a pod, Isley and I. Three peas if you count her amazing father. We are both incredibly blessed to work from home. So, aside from those few showers and nap times, we are always together.

I can count on one hand the number of times we’ve left her in the past eleven months. Some people give us a hard time for not getting out more etc but I am so happy to spend my days with this little lady of ours. Even the nights (which lately is every night) when she wakes up at 2am and thinks it’s party time.

I don’t mind at all because as she gets closer and closer to turning one I am reminded that she will not be this little forever. She will not always want to snuggle me in the middle of the night and she definitely won’t want to chase her father and I around our tiny apartment, giggling like crazy at 3am. For now, I’ll happily take the sleepless nights and the bags under my eyes.

baby swing

Oh the swings at the park. This baby lives for them. I don’t think I’ve ever known a baby that loves to swing as much as Isley. Every week we take her to the park as many times as we can. Nothing is better or more fun than listening to her giggle and squeal in delight as she gets pushed higher and higher.

happy friday

happy friday

Today is dreary and chilly and these photos of Isley’s nursery are so bright and happy I had to share. We’re looking forward to a weekend filled with fun, family and lots of photo editing on my part. I was honored to shoot my oldest friend’s maternity photos after her shower last weekend and cannot wait to get them finished so that I can share them with her. Happy Friday!

you are my i love you

I just had to share this little image I created for Izzie’s baby book. The poem is You Are My I Love You by Maryann Cusimano and is a real favorite around our house.

little love

little love

I know things have been a bit on the silent side around here. I’ve just been busy soaking up every moment of my days with this little love of mine. On Saturday she’ll be 10 months old and it makes me a little sad to think her first birthday is right around the corner.  This adventure of ours is flying by so fast and so I’m making every effort to slow it down and enjoy it all. The still sleepless nights, her hilarious laugh, the way she smiles at me in the morning, her tiny hands, how every now and then she cuddles up and falls asleep on me. I want to live this time with her to the fullest and memorize everything and every moment.

*I’ll still be posting. It just won’t be as often as before. Probably more like a few days a week or maybe even less. We’ll see.

thinking of warmer days

Earlier this week Shayne and I both took the day away from our work to go out and enjoy some much needed sunshine. As soon as Isley was done with her nap we hit the road and headed to the marina and sat by the water. Isley fell in love with a piece of grass and the breeze hitting her face. It was a gorgeous sunny day in the lower 80s. Today, as I glance out the window while typing this, it’s a sad, rainy, gloomy day. I had to look back on these photos and remember that in just a few days this rain will be gone and the sun will be shining.
